Side View - which do you prefer?

Following on from the recent fitting of a shiny exhaust finisher - which I added as part of my change to the side view of the car:
I have replaced the sidesteps with stainless side bars

I know which I prefer the look of - what do you think? Please complete my poll

I dont really like the side steps/skid bars with the silver edge, it makes the car look like a fairground dodgem in my opinion.

The side steps are not the best even the genuine JLR ones the silver edging pits and they are bad for crumbling away and actually falling off after 5 years! The winter salt is a contributing factor especially the amount they use up here Rolling Eyes

It's a hard question you've asked its like asking if you are a brunette or a blonde man?

Advantages of side steps are they assist in helping you entry/exit the vehicle and keep the doors clean from road spray!

SS side tubes look nice and will never rust, they will also stop some road spray but not that much. Also you cannot use them as side steps unless you have the over 3" diameter SS side tubes like me with with the foot plates in the tubes Wink MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I took the side steps off my D4, I bought the car at 2 years old and they were rotten. I much prefer the tubes.

I'm thinking about putting the tubes on my D4, but I'm not sure. I fancy adding the black pack through time, just not sure how it will look with Loire perhaps a bit to dark. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Well in my case I have Roof Rails which I use on a regular basis to carry long lengths of timber as I'm still renovating! Side steps are a necessity as I don't like using the door sills to stand on.
So from a practical point of view, side steps are useful and look good as they are chunky.
In my view.
Also the LR side steps are designed to be easily removed if you go seriously offroad, 3 bolts with the tyre leaver and they just slide out and into the back!
Tubes and non OE I'm not so sure about.
So if they're just for show, go for what you think looks good. MY15

Re: Side View - which do you prefer?

That tailpipe trim didn't look too bad when viewed from the rear (though it's not my thing)
But must say it does look a bit cobbled together when seen from the side .....
my opinion only.

Re tubes or steps - not a fan of steps, prefer tubes as you do get some sill protection from them if/when off road.

Btw with Fuji, I'd go black pack all the way.
Had a Fuji D4 in 2011 that had the full black pack and really liked the contrast.

Side steps as they offer better use ( cleaning roof, sometimes stops tits in smaller cars bashing your lr2 with their door, keeps road spray from flicking up so much ) Freelander 57 plate XS Blue Auto

I agree don't think I've got it lined up properly yet - too much haste to get it fitted will sort it and re-post Thumbs Up No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS
