Rotting windscreen rubber.

Anybody else had this problem ?
I noticed it when I removed the raised air intake to re-vamp it. The intake wasn't bonded to it , or covered it . But it was mouldy and rotting away.
I've tried to trim it , but due to it being so soft and gooey , this was the best I could get with my scalpel on the least damaged bit.
What I did manage to remove was like the world's stickiest bogey (Toxteth O'Grady, USA Rolling with laughter ) that stuck to my fingers .

Roof trim side rubber has gone the same way, with the rubber completely gone .
