Agreed. I had steps on a Honda CRV - the only time my feet ever touched them was when I stood on them to wash/polish the roof

In the advert the adults getting in and out of the car looked odd but for the child the steps appeared to be of use.

I have no small youngsters and for that reason I won't be investing and I am out.

They kind of make sense, i want side steps as it makes loading kids bikes and the roof box far easier. When i had a loan fl2 with sidesteps it kept getting my trousers muddy as i brushed against them getting into the car. It would have been useful to retract them.

Far better use of money than buying things like big alloys.

I saw these on a Range Rover Sport in Williams landrover Manchester at the weekend. I thought they were really impressive. They appear as you open the door and retract again as soon as you close the door. Sidesteps are useful for smaller people. I had them fitted to my last Freelander but chose not to with my new Metropolis as they might spoil the look of the bodywork. Freelander 2 Metropolis 64 in Loire Blue with Ivory Windsor Leather. Previously Range Rover Evoque PureTech for 3weeks. Freelander2 XS and Freelander2 S.

Very nice. £630 though!
