2009 HSE - My headlamp options

Bought a Black HSE recently, I'm keen to get a bright and tidy front end. I've seen the signature LED headlights... very nice... and a nice price too. What are the options to get a front end with bright white headlamps and DRL's?

The signature headlights are available on Ebay most of the time. If you are fitting them then best to pay a bit more and get the Xenon versions as the halogen signature lights have been reported as having a poor light output and a poor bulb life. There are threads on here about altering the wiring so that the DLR`s work as they should and dim when the lights are switched on or if you want a more plug and play option there is a seller on Ebay who does a conversion loom that will allow the lights to work as they should. Not a cheap conversion however. Expect to pay around £200-£275 per headlight (new)and around £245 for the headlight loom. If going for Xenon you will also have to pay a garage £30-£50 to alter the cars CCF to allow the headlights to work properly without flickering. There is a great thread in Maintenance and Modifications entitled Guide to retro fitting MY2013 Led Halogen headlights. Well worth a read if you are considering the upgrade!

I've been doing a fair bit of reading... I see EU versions of the lights are avilable and adverts imply that they have a handle which is moved for the UK market - is this fair?

The EU lights when "adapted" to RHD mode by moving the lever give a flat beam pattern without the kick up pattern that helps illuminate the side of the road and whilst would be ok for temporary use when "abroad" would not really be suited to everyday use in the UK and may also have issues when MOT time comes along. Again there are a few threads on here about the pro`s and cons`s of trying to use EU spec headlights on a UK car.

not on all variants of headlamps.

As I understand it, the lever is in the Xenon headlamp only.

best check as I only have experience with Halogen headlamps.

EDIT: DonDiddy answered just second before my post.

Not as nice as signature lights but of all alternatives I liked this one the most: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-aP4OU6s-M. I just don't know if it is allowed here.

Second best alternative are the Osram LEDriving lights: https://www.osram.com/am/ecat/LEDriving%20...P_1072187/. Several people here in the forum have them.

Genuine signature lights is the best but also the most expensive option.

I admit I'd get these if they were marketed here
