Dexter had some love....

Treated Dexter to some love at my independent.......

    Full service
    MOT
    Gearbox oil change
    Diff oil change
    New propshaft
New sump gasket (to fix leak)
    Cambelt change
    New water pump
    Coolant change

Whilst I appreciate a lot of it is psychological, he felt like a completely different car on the way home.

Then again, with that much replaced he pretty much IS a different car! Laughing

It was a bit of a wallet-ectomy, that's for sure.

However, no plans to replace the vehicle.

I "ummed" and "aaaahhed" about having the work done, as I've been burned before with doing significant work to a vehicle and then getting bored, chopping it in and the next owner benefiting from my investment instead of me.

However, the plan is to be good and keep Dexter until it genuinely becomes uneconomic to repair.

Given it's a Land Rover, that could (admittedly) be next Tuesday........

May one ask Dexter's mileage?

One may....

Just a shade under 68,000 miles - MY07.

Early for the cambelt and water pump, I admit. But with no plans to replace the vehicle, and with no real understanding of the life the car had with its previous 4 owners I thought "what the hell" and had it done anyway....
