Ireland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Nazca Sand
DIY Manual Gearbox removal to change DMF, Clutch and slave.

Help!!!
Pedal dropped to the floor of our 2007 FL2 today. its been acting up a while so I knew this was coming....
In the morning we must decide one of two directions.
Phone main dealer or indy garage and let them tow the jeep and fix it at horrendous Irish rates (1500-2000 euro) and hopefully get a courtesy car
or
freewheel jeep down the road into a mechanic mates garage and the two of us will go at her over the next few days.
(im ex mechanic and previously did my own Rav4 D4D clutch on another friends lift a few years ago).

What im stuck on is a guide to removing the manual gearbox and if its a straight forward job (leave transfer box in place) or like the Rav4 its easier to drop box and transfer unit together.

Are there any experts online tonight that can advise please?

btw have to borrow the cost to repair from the bank but if im doing it myself apart from saving labour costs I can put all the parts onto my motor factors account and drip off the bill over the next month or so, thus removing the need to borrow 2000 euro!!!

any help appreciated, will be up a while yet!

I think the official time is 5.5 hours but as with any 8 year old vehicle expect delays in unbolting things! Im aware its a subframe off job (just like the Rav4) but would love to know if the rest is straight forward or if there is anything I need to know.
things like steering geometry getting messed up when disturbing subframe.
do I need new bolts for flywheel and clutch
can I tow the freelander in neutral or will that damage the trick gearbox in some way?

If anyone has a link to this being carried out or even the online guide (Topix)?

Im online a while doing what I can to research.

BTW below is Dealer prices quoted a month or so back.......
