United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Lago Grey

I'd say that HDC going down hill in snow really depends on the conditions - i.e. how steep the hill is and how fast you're going / want to go. If the conditions are bad and you're going very slowly then yes, use HDC. But if you're going a bit faster HDC can be too aggressive - you lift off the power expecting gentle over-run and instead get the HDC cutting in with more braking than you need/want! But approaching a steep hairpin which you want to tip-toe around HDC is ideal as it will slow you down without allowing the wheels to lock.

Really interesting responses everyone, thank you. We are still checking out alternative routes as it really is important that my wife makes it tonwork, regardless of the weather. She will likely take the FL2 but I want to know I can exlain to her what settings to use etc. I will then be left with the Audi to ferry the kids around in so also need to know its limitations on the local roads. Not really something I can do in preparation! FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…
