To be fair, the Haldex doesn't give many problems, it's the Diff that can give problems and sometimes the Haldex unit if procedures haven't been followed when repairing the Diff. |

Had a 2011 model SD4 Freelander from new, nearly three years of ownership and 44,000 miles (72,000 km) later I swapped it in for a 2013 model. In its time it suffered no faults with the rear diff. |

ad210358, on what month was produced your 2011 freelander ? the beginning or the end of 2011 ? Did it tow anything ? A caravan for example ? |

Both were used for towing, not up to the Max, 1500kgs. The 2011 was one of the first of the facelift models built October 2010. Both were used towing a van which visited your area, would be good to get back over also |

It was a facelift model built November 2010 and registered new to me February 2011, in that time of ownership it had two full summers of towing a 1300kg caravan and behaved impeccably. Sold on with no problems except a slight resonance in the exhaust system at 2000 revs, which it had from new. |

sorry to be a fly in the ointment but my 2011 FL2 ended up with having 2 (Yes TWO!!!) replacement Haldex units fitted. Never been offroad and at the time had covered about 30000 miles. |

In theory maybe, but the 07 one I had was fine up to 40k when it was traded in, but the MY11 one I bought had the Diff Bearings replaced at 20k. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

We have a late 60 reg with diff, wheel bearing and transfer box replaced at 50k miles. Now at 60k I suspect that another bearing is going. If you are looking at a 2011 model look out for the "hesitation" problem too. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
