Climate Control Again!

Hi,

Did some searching but can't seem to find the right answer. Sorry if it has been said already.

I previously posted about having a heated screen fitted on my 2007 HSE but no actual button on the CCU to activate it. Decided just to leave it be.

I had to have the screen replaced today for a large crack. It was replaced again with a Heated Screen and the nice man at the garage investigated the wiring etc. He told me that all was there and was in place but obviously not the button..

Anyway i have seen on Fleabay some CCU units with Heated Screen buttons at a price that it is worth trying to see if it all works.

My question is..why are there so many different variations? I have seen one with heated screen button but the lower left button on mine is just a circle formed by two arrows one LED....and the ones on Fleabay (lower left) is the circle with two arrows and two LED lights but says Auto-Man also...

Is it going to be a huge problem if i just change over???...i mean i can always change back if so but a bit confused to the variations of the lower left and right buttons...
Any help much appreciated before i buy something from Fleabay. Some examples below i hope.

Thank you.
Mac.

United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 TD4_e SE Manual Orkney Grey

I bet one unit is from a car with Auto "climate control" and the other from a car with Manual "Air Con"

The auto climate version being on the up market versions the man air con on the povertiy spec models??
The fact the non auto one hasnt got heated seat buttons probably confirms its from a lesser model in the range

Yes,

I was thinking the same. Mine is like the bottom picture but i have heated seats and of course the buttons.. The one i want to buy is like the top picture...But I am wondering if it will be ok to actually fit it...I can't find one like mine anywhere....

Both have 'Auto' buttons...so what is auto...? Auto-Econ button is only difference...Confused more as i keep going on about it haha..

Anyone?

Can't tell you if it will fit but mine has the auto on the left. This is auto recirculation so the car works out to recirculate or not based on internal, external and desired temperatures.

Some of the posh models have an auto feature that turns on the recirculation system if it senses poor air, so im guessing this is the case of the auto on the recirculation
