SD4 - Oil leak near dipstick

Hi All,
I have a MY2011 SD4 HSE which has now done about 50,000miles. I have now noticed two issues as I was cleaning the car. Hope somebody could assist. I could take the car to a garage, but found the main dealers in Glasgow to be rather poor:
1. The car has developed an oil leak which comes from the font of the engine, near the oil dip stick. There is a flexible hose connector coming from somwhere in the bumper which leads into the engine block. The oil leak is at the top of this flexible pipe. I took the engine cover off, but there is so much other stuff going on that it is difficult to see where the leak exactly is. I have attached a photo of the pipe, you cannot see the oil leak from it.
2. The insulation around the common rail injectors has all broken up and turned into pieces. Either by rodent infestation or the engine itself. Is this common, see attached photo.

Kind Regards
CaptFish

Most definitely rodents. Similar thing happened to WMBO's Beemer - a family of mice had chewed up the scuttle insulation and made a nest behind the battery.

Id check for a nest somewhere - they dont eat the insulation , its for bedding ! Smile Jules

Well, I wiped off the oil spill and have not noticed any new oil underneath the dip stick. Maybe something was spilled during the service. Will keep an eye on it.
