When I picked my car up the salesman told me the car was previously owned my an air marshal which I took with a pinch of salt, but when I was pairing my phone in it still had his name in, and the home location in the sat nav was Windsor Castle. Google his name and found he was the Constable and Governor of Windsor Castle (retired air marshal)

They are more than likely not leased they are given them for free as its good advertising for the brand?

When I was negotiating on my current Freelander my wife asked what car David Beckham drove. The sales lady said it was a Range Rover Vogue which cost £110k just like the two which Land Rover had given to the Queen and Kate Middleton. When I asked why cars were being given out to people who actually could afford them, she said that the product placement was priceless.

When The Queen with Prince Philip visited here a few years back her Range Rover was given the registration mark "HM". Afterwards it was withdrawn as all registrations must include a number. driving on the right side
