Is there a way to add your own filter before the LR one to save having to change the reservoir so you could replace the filter at regular intervals? Hippo's videos - Honorary Tratterer |

What do you call regular? I have only done two on four FL2s so far and the second one was just in case it was needed (it was). In my view it is likely to be once in the lifetime of the car with you so it's not exactly a regular service item and at about £26 is it worth the hassle of plumbing in another filter? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

My mistake. I was thinking the PAS issue was a returning issue and not one which was solved once flushed or if the rack replaced. Hippo's videos - Honorary Tratterer |

Today i went to the dealer and he changed the fluid and cleaned the filter. He said there is no need to change tha tank which by the way is in excellent condition. The car is quiet now. Hopefully it will stay this way. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE 2.2 (2007) Auto

If you look at this thread you will see that it's almost impossible to see if the filter is blocked without cutting it open and how would you clean it? So I wouldn't necessarily believe it when the dealer says that the filter is OK. I even tried looking in mine with a dentists mirror.
