GPS DvD

Please tell me if you can replace the F/L 2 DvD Disc, the 2014/15 one on the 2011 vehicle model with a VOLVO one, does it accept it without problems, and has it more info on it than the L/R one?

You should be able to use the Volvo RTI Europe discs used on earlier S40 V50 XC90 C30 C70. (Not HDD versions) They do have more info on them - ie some 4,000 Speed cams, but the LR Sat Nav won't read them. Rolling Eyes

Look for the ones in the box with Europe Map on the cover, not the "Dominoes" on the cover.

DVD sat nav disk problem

I aquired a Volvo 2014 DVD disk to update the 2012 version in my Freely.

It's a MY10 model but came with a genuine 2012 DVD set.

Anyway, the 2014 disk I have loads OK and all functions work but I get some strange routings for journeys. For example, planning a route from Nottingham to Ipswich, the sat nav completely ignores the A14, the most direct route, and wants to take me down A1/M11/A12 or via Kings Lynn and cross country. Driving the route, sat nav continues to ignore A14 and keeps trying to divert off it.

Reverting back to 2012 version, all works OK, but I miss updated roads, especially new A46 dual to Newark.

I know you will say should have bought pukka disk, but just wondered if anyone else had similar experience. Andy
