Hi everyone, First day of sunshine in Scotland so decided to open the sunroof it partially opened and there was grinding and crunching, the result is bits of broken plastic and a sunroof that wont close properly.
Can anyone advise if this is common and how to repair .

300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Many thanks for that, didn't sound good and the plastic bits that were destroyed probably caused more damage looks like a trip to LR for an expensive repair.
Note to self don't use the sunroof ( i normally don't)

Took the car to LR today and was told £887.67 to fix apparently needs new sunroof runner and guides

Good grief that's lots,if it's shut and water tight I would just put up with it.

Wish it would keep shut only thing holding it shut is gaffa tape courtesy of lr for another week as they need to order the bits.

Joolsk, there was a recall for that problem in the infancy of the FL2. Have you any record of yours
being done? 2013 Dynamic Santorini black
2011 XS Lago grey
2007 HLS Stornoway grey
sometimes towing an Elldis AVANTE 574.

Hi thanks for that apparently the recall had been done, so just need to fork out the big bucks total rip off not very happy
