drivers door will not lock

Greetings I have done a search but can't find this problem.
The drivers door will not lock but the alarm set's. I have been through every possible combination with the fob and checked all doors. Is there something obvious that I am missing or is it just another problem?
Regards Paul.

Try pressing 3 times the lock button.

I have a mechanical fault on my rear door which means it does not look as it should woth out locking twice ... this must be seen as unlocked by the car as the alarm arms but the drivers door is not locked.

Ill know if the issue has gone when the lockibg motor is replaced.... ( in the post ).

I hope that helps.

Thanks ccsnet I'll give a try. I will try it in the morning, don't want to risk setting of alarm this time of night. Thumbs Up

Looks like the door Latch needs replacement, and yes it sounds like another freelander known "feature"

Thanks vafree2.
I tried ccsnet recommendation, it's working at the moment Bow down
As I have done about 1500mls. since the last brake down ( throttle body ) its just about time to replace another part.
Is replacing this part a DIY job, or the usual plug into the computer?
Regards Paul.

I had the same fault on one of the rear doors. Had a read from the D3 forum on how to fix/ change the lock, but before that I give it a good spray with silicon oil by removing one of fixing screws and sprayed in there and anywhere else I could get into and it just started working again. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

Just an up date. It appears to be a faulty part. Multi pressing lock on the fob eventually locks all doors.
When unlocking the drivers door remains locked.
Out of interest how many forum members physically check the doors are locked. I only discovered this problem by accident.
I think like most drivers, when the mirrors fold you take it for granted the thing is locked.
All the best.
