Applecross Pass

Does anyone have any experience of driving this Question

I'm off on my hols for a week in September and will be around that area and am told that it's a wonderful drive and the scenery is just outstanding.

Will the Freelander with a manual gearbox make it up ok Question ______________________

Yeah very good drive, although when I did it the weather was a bit misty so couldn't see much!

Beautiful drive. Did it a few years ago after getting married in Poolewe, though I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I would've liked. There I was, an American driving on the opposite side of the road and opposite seat in the car to what I was used to, on narrow twisty roads in a big Jag sedan. So I was more than a bit focused on keeping the car on the road and out of the ravines!

You'll love the scenery.

Do it - it's a fantastic drive and much more intersting that the (what was the) new road round the outside. The picture above is more reminiscent of Wrynose and Hardnot in the Lake Distrcit whihc does get busy and full of the less competent.

Late and early are quiet times on the road - this time of year it still quite light until 11 and then again OK at 3!

You've got me thinking that I shoudl take my FL2 there and retrace ealier crossings of the "Bealach na Ba"

Was on it last week. Not too far from where I live so went over there to see some friends last Sunday. Definatley worth a look, although as mentioned plenty of stopping in passing places as fairly busy at this time of year but dont let that put you off!
