Thinking of selling up

Thinking of selling my beloved FL2 as my kids are now older and one has just moved out, both have their own cars.

Which just leave me and the dog (and no, that's not a rude name for my wife/girlfriend) Laughing

Im having a dilemma as everytime I park up I still look back at the Freely and realise how good she looks now after my cosmetic upgrades.

The problem being that
a) I no longer use all the space the FL2 gives me
b) There are more suitable, more economical, more on road fun cars out there
c) My confidence in the mechanics of the car have been somewhat shattered by my recent DMF/Slave cylinder issues, and I now have a droning noise from the back end (praying its not rear diff bearings!! )

General concensus - should I stay or should I go now ??

you're not sure? Laughing

What do you want next? Get an extended test drive or hire something for the weekend and see if it suits, a sports car in this weather will be nice but don't forget the good weather doesn't hang around, unlike a wife/girlfriend Whistle

Just covering all the bases Taz Laughing

Looking at a 8 month Astra GTC 2.0D. 2 1/2 years manufacturers warranty still on it, 60+ mpg and £110 VED.

I drive around 15-20k miles a year, and for the few really bad snow days we get in North Nottinghamshire is a AWD really necessary.

Maybe just having a crisis after the £1300 ive spend on servicing, brakes and DMF in the last month. I don't want to be splashing any more big cash on it for a while and the droning is nagging me (again that's not the wife/girlfriend droning Laughing )

Get a Mercedes and after a couple of years of services and repairs you will gain a whole new perspective on motoring costs.

I had a similar dilemma, just me and er in doors (burd) and stopped playing golf so the Disco was a bit of a luxury, the only thing that came close was the Freelander never even considered anything else, fuel economy dosen't worry me.
I can see you're problem having spent out on repairs and possibly more to come, if it were me I would bite the bullet and be looking at an approved used FL2 with 2 years warranty and assistance. FL2 SD4 Metropolis Auto Santorini Black / ivory completely stock.

It's true that light travels faster than sound, some people look quite intelligent until you hear them speak.

Stop global winging.

I had a Mec through work and the thing was constantly in the dealership - I reckon 6 times a year it would need a repair of £1,000 or more, it was an absolute nightmare.

Slightly different topic - but - I don't think the new Alfa Romeo has much to worry about in reliability vs Mercedes!

definitely nice, Alfa have pretty much always made gorgeous looking cars with great styling........... and that then fall to bits after 6 months Laughing

Plus its only a 4 door and due to being the owner of a water and mud loving Spring Spaniel, I need a hatchback. I wont/cant buy an estate and I don't like the German or French hatchbacks, leaving me with your average Joe Vauxhell or Ford offerings.

Cant believe how much of dilemma im having over this Big Cry
