Well I got my towbar (Bosal vertical detachable) and fitted it to my car no problems and very little cutting of the sport bumper required certainly nothing that is visible. Then after a good bit of thought I decided to get the genuine LR wiring kit which was a doddle to fit, now for what I thought was the easy bit (getting the car programmed for it as nothing was working yet). Called around and LR were unable to do it for a week so went with a towbar place that said "oh aye that shouldn't be a problem" they tried and there equipment didn't do the job I now only have brake lights on the trailer. But now comes the bigger problem after they monkeyed about with a meter and several sporadic faults coming up on my dash my parking sensors now don't work! Grr and to top it off the guy was a total and I ended up having to pay for him for the pleasure.

I thought this too but according to the manual the flashing light on the parking sensor button and long beep after car starts means there is a fault. Is this the same procedure the car does if there is towbar electrics plugged in? Regards

If Trailer module has been activated and trailer is attached when indicator is used the small trailer symbol on cluster will flash.

In answer to Alan's question - No - if trailer plugged in the PDC is silent and you get a trailer icon lit on the dash when you operate the indicators 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

It's the 13 pin electrics I have yeah the wee symbol on the dash isn't coming on at all. Thank you dunkley201 that was my suspicion. I'm hopeful that once LR put their programme into the module it will all work but I suspect they have created a fault with my parking sensors now. Regards

When I stripped the electrics from my previous car - without having it 'unprogrammed' - the car demonstrated exactly the same symptoms with the parking sensors.

HappyNomad i was hoping you would read my post saw that you had a similar fault in a previous post lol, I've already checked the fuses are correct and also swapped them for replacements even though they looked fine. What was that cured yours once the electrics were removed? Regards

Mine was a bit opposite really in that having removed the wiring I then also removed the two 15A fuses and the little relay. The car was then left looking for a piece of kit that no longer existed.

HappyNomad thank you fingers crossed that is all that is required, I have found today a indie garage nearby that have the diagnostic equipment for Landrover as they do all the SSE Landrovers so hoping to get it in there soon to get looked at as you say will be cheaper than LR. Regards

You should have no bother with a reputable indie.

A wee update so far put the car to my local garage who have just got a new fancy diagnostic kit, after reading the faults it appears the rear of the car has lost communication with the front I'm guessing that this was caused when they were probing around with their meter. They cleared the faults and the 2 that remain are that the towbar module has incorrect programming and a parking sensor fault he is fairly confident/hopeful that with the correct programme in the towbar module the parking sensors should sort themselves out. Going to LR in the morning so hopefully they can update the programming in the towbar module. Regards
