Rear brake discs/pads

Is it a difficult job to change the rear discs and brake pads on my vehicle? I have a reasonable knowledge on 'doing jobs' on my vehicles in the past. I purchased a new set of discs and pads, far cheaper than going to a main dealer, but have been quoted stupid prices to fit them, even by paying 'cash in hand'.

I did mine a few weeks ago , took about 3hrs max , worst part is trying to find the thread to let the handbrake shoes off a bit so you can get the disc off, other than that it's straight forward.

You might want to change the handbrake shoes and free off the adjusters while you are at it.

Yes. You need to put the brakes into service mode and then it is a reasonably easy job if you are handy.Agroman has posted how to put the brakes into service mode.I changed my rear pads a week ago on my 2013 LR2 and had no problem.
