I've not used it on the newer car but retrace is basically dots on screen so you can follow the breadcrumbs back out if your off-road Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

trace route is enabled - I think from reading other threads (http://www.freel2.com/forum/post53498.html) page 34 & page 47 may help. there should be an option to disable it

not true, if you are well off the beaten track, especially in the dark. then the tracert dots are pretty much the only way to find your way back to your point of entry, or any landmarks you spotted enroute - unless you are 100% familiar with the lay of the land. even then people get lost.
