Ive just had mine serviced at a trusted independent. LR Chesterfield wanted (including loyalty discount) £320 for a B service. To which I replied so that just an oil change then ?? Yes was the answer, pretty much.

I had a B service last year at the indy I use, it was £290. My car was then 4 years old and out of warranty. The question you have to ask yourself is do you want to stick with LR servicing so when the car is out of warranty you might get a goodwill gesture or contribution on any repairs needed OR do you want to save money and have the servicing done by an indy and not get any goodwill or contributions from LR. I know some people prefere to stick with a dealer for servicing etc, I've always used an indy on mine. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

they will sleep knowing their high overhead costs and large glitzy LR showrooms which are renovated every couple of years along with free tea, coffee and Hδagen-Dazs Ice cream will be safe for another month with the extra £200 they charge per service Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

It has been known for a dealer to price match in Indy if you push them hard enough but that may have been when times were harder than they are now. FL2 SD4 Metropolis Auto Santorini Black / ivory completely stock.

Never seen anything resembling goodwill flow from a franchised dealer. Rang all 3 within range and they are all price ringing. Claiming Landrover say it should be £580 but their incredibly generous discount takes to to £480 They are probably all funded by venture capitalists, most of them probably unaware they own a dealership. There is no love for the Marque at these places, only love of stacking money. |

Very high. My 3rd year Service is due in the next 6 weeks, and this afternoon 2 Main Dealers namely Guy Salmon Coventry quoted £269, whilst Listers (formerly TwAatstone Solihull) quoted £278. Both include VAT, parts and a Courtesy vehicle for the day. Labour time 1.7 hours.

I was ringing around the other week for price's Stockport, Manchester and Knutsford which is where I bought the car from and they were a bit cheaper at £440. Still a lot for a B-service when you compare to the independent garage just up the road from me only charging £240. It's the worry about warranty work as to why we go back to the main dealers and pay these silly price's. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

My car will be going to my mechanic for its first service when it's due and he also offers a courtesy car. I don't have any issues with anyone who has an excellent track record. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

My first service (the cars 4th) was done by an independent mobile LR specialist. VAT registered so no issue. Have had warranty work done since and no questions asked.

Tenet, can I ask who you use? I have service and rear brake pads replacement coming up and really don't like the dealers prices! Thanks |
