Laughing Thumbs Up

I was quite shocked to hear after the raids last week that FIFA is involved with football. I just thought it was Skullduggery HQ. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Blatter announced just before the English FA Cup Final kick off that he'd tend his resignation 'immediately after Arsenal score their fourth goal'. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Perhaps a bit naive and I am not a football fan but I was trying to work out who is the victim in the (alleged) crimes? The matches aren't rigged (are they?) so the fans haven't lost out. The countries who got the rights to host the games paid the bribes willingly. Blatter got a lot of support from 3rd world countries. etc etc Confused 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I would say that England were victims having spent £20,000,000 to try and get the World Cup only to be beaten by a corrupt bid.

Yes £20m could have gone to JLR towards a decent Freelander 2 replacement. What a missed opportunity! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Didn't realise the FBI had jurisdiction outside the USA, and they call it soccer what do they think the F stands for?, fraud maybe.
PS I'm no fan of football either. FL2 SD4 Metropolis Auto Santorini Black / ivory completely stock.

I believe the excuse for FBI involvement is that the bribes were in US dollars. They should have used Euros, no EU institution would have got their act together to pursue the case then. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

So the fact that the USA lost out to host the World Cup due to corruption and bribery has nothing to do with the FBI? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

The situation is a right mess. Should the FBI offer more whistleblowers protection, it's possible that the whole position of FIFA could become untenable. We don't know the facts yet.
I'm just glad that it's beginning to happen and that those responsible for any wrongdoing get what they deserve Evil or Very Mad

Today, Football Association of Ireland chief executive John Delaney confirmed that FIFA paid Ireland's football association 5 million Euros (around £3.6 million) to avoid being sued over their 2010 World Cup play-off defeat to France, according to the Irish football chief. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
