water leak : how can I remove high level brake light

I have a water leak -I think from the high level brake light fitting.
I have removed the centre piece of trim on the boot coovering a load of electronics etc,
and whenever it rains it is always dam there, and in runs down the ijnside of the rear window Sad

How can I remove the high level light?
I want too refit and reseal it..

not happy. this is supposed to be a LR not a Skod@...
It should at least be rain proof,

any ideas welcome

Just pull off the inside trim on the rear tailgate and release the catches either side by putting your finger in the holes. Its all in the handbook. Thumbs Up

I did mine a couple of weeks ago after the power wash got through, very easy job. I did a quick fix by putting some masking tape behind where the catches latch, so it pulled it tighter. Never leaked since. Very Happy

mine too but only occasionally with the pressure washer,

the light really is very easy to remove, if anything the plastic cover is more fiddly as the plastic clips are easily broken.

Second the fiddley plastic cover, took more time trying to get that off than changing the actual light unit

I had mine changed under warranty. No leaks now.
It seems to be a common problem with high level brake lights, I've just changed the one on my wifes mini. That was a swine to do due to the roof spoiler being in the way. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

According to Russben's notes there's a technical bulletin about this. LTB00348.

As I said before I had mine changed a week ago, but now water is coming in from the wash wiper system. I think that the little orifice is not sitting properly on the light assembly. I will go back to the dealers tomorow. Any idea?

I've noticed on a couple of occasions after rain or washing a small amount of water on the rear load cover. Is this likely to be the high level brake light seal as well?
