Been looking at the Roadhawk HD and Blackvue 600 and reading comments on here about them which seem favourable , I have just been alerted to the Nextbase 402 Dashcam at £140 which appears to have good reviews , anyone have any knowledge or feedback of this model ?

I considered the nexbase - but thought it was FUGLY, and the mount looked awful.

Most people don't even realise there is a camera there, the Blackvue fits up behind the interior mirror, the recording LED is turned off, no one has ever commented it's there. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

I was reading posts on another forum that a lot of people were concerned that when you put your vehicle in for a service and or MOT, the mechanic ( in loose terms of course ) takes it out and gives it a good thrashing.

It must just be the 64gb sandisk cards that have the problem as I use 32gb sandisk in my blackvue and its fine.

If you are not interested in using the parking mode feature plugging into the front socket will be fine as it will stop recording when the vehicle goes to sleep, otherwise you should consider a Power Magic \ Power Magic pro and just plug it into the passenger fuse panel via a piggy back fuse, that will save your car battery from being killed.

What's this power magic pro ? I really don't like the idea of it powering from the socket this way sounds much tidier. |

Power Magic Pro connects to a permanent live 12v feed, and will power the camera until the battery voltage hits a pre set (low) voltage. It will then power off the camera to prevent your battery going flat.
