Clip in drivers door pocket

My FL2 (07) has a little round clip set in the vertical plane with the hole in the direction of the vehicle. I have no idea what it is for? Umbrella? Any clues?

Put some boat (outdoor) carpet in the pocket. It is stiff enough that it sits in place.

Had a Japanese import Disco a while ago, had a similar clip at side of passenger footwell. I was told it was for a fire extinguisher.

If its a jap import it will be for the flare. I had a couple of imports (not LR, Mazda) where they forgot to remove them. Still have one of them in the garage. About 8 inches long, inch or so thick, take off the cap and strike against the inner bit, nice red smoke for a minute or so. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory
