Anyone got experience of "chipping" their Freelander2? http://www.tunit.co.uk/vehicles/view/model/2771#your-tunit-header

Tuning boxes have not changed in 8 years. They are still cheap resistors in an expensive box

OK so a remap is the way to go. Is there a dedicated website for that sort of thing? Or can you steer me in the right direction please?

As Mickey says, Tuning boxes simply alter signals from sensors and tell the ECU lies.

Remapping a manual is not recommended. See here for why: http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic24623.html |

And yet, our FL2 is a manual, with 129k miles, and no clutch DMF issues whatsoever

I don't particularly want to open a nest of Vipers.......BUT.......I live and work around Hastings which has some pretty steep hills and I see so many people balancing their car on the clutch for ages waiting for the lights to change. So it doesn't surprise me that so many clutches wear out at low mileages these days. Seems that a lot of people don't know how to do a hill start off the hand brake. |
