Australia 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Izmir Blue
5 years on...

My baby is now 5 years old, so I thought I might post it bit of a summary of how it has gone so far.
2010 SE TD4 brand new from Gold Coast, Australia, in Izmir Blue with Almond leather interior. Now done 68,000km.
Dealer serviced up to 36,000km - way too expensive. Now doing every second service myself and using a local mechanic for the other. - No problems so far.
One new set of tyres, still on original battery!
Only problem in 5 years has been unexplained flat battery a few times.
Its been all over the east coast of Australia including plenty of off road work. Only stuck once on soft sand which was my fault for not letting the tyre pressures down. Towed a 1 ton camper trailer on most of our big trips, no problems.
Its a great towing vehicle, the engine just seems to be getting better and better with age. The most comfortable car I have ever driven.
Don't plan to sell any time soon, luckily because depreciation is a killer.

That's awesome! I was wondering when I should change my battery, guess I'll wait another year.

Saying: If you don't get a complaint, customers are happy. Nice to hear a good report that someone is very happy with their car.

I have alway replaced the battery every 4 years as that is about the safe life of a battery. Any more is luck & I don't want to break down unnecessarily. With all the electronics in cars these days I don't want to add problems. Previous car was manual everything & no airbags that was how old it was.

My car is going straight to my mechanic for it's first service. He wanted my old car, no smoke at all after quarter of a million km. Plan on keeping my car until I need a mobility scooter. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
