BBQ cleaning secrets?

I've just inherited a stainless steel gas powered BBQ which needs a good clean. Any tips, recommendations to shift the worst bits?

You need one of those small Karcher hand held steam cleaners, it will do the job lovely and then afterwards you can give it to the wife so she can do the oven inside too Thumbs Up

Oven cleaner might shift it eventually but its nasty stuff and you have to watch it doesnt get on anything its not supposed to as you apply it as well, including yourself.

Used a can of Mr Muscle oven cleaner. Got the majority of it off but not the worst. Wonder if the steamer suggestion will take the rest off...?
