First week of ownership

First things first....This was not a good week to have Santorini Black - its done nothing but rain and is now a slightly darker shade of lago grey!

Having driven just over 500 miles in a week, I'd be interested to know how typical my experiences have been.

37MPG - mix of motorway and town driving

1st and 2nd gear is pretty notchy - not sure of I can wait until the first service although realise that with 523 miles on the clock its probably a bit early to get it looked at.

Is it my imagination or do people look at you (but without that hateful BMW driver stare)?

Really noisy when starting from cold (for the first couple of miles) but wonderfully quiet on the motorway

Absolutely fantastic to drive and you feel great, even going to the railway station-3 miles away !

You feel obliged to keep admiring it from the window?

I have caught Discovery drivers actually sneering sometimes - the cheek!

Actually, I can admit to sneering at Freelander drivers when I owned a Disco3, but that was in FL1 days.
(I had an FL1 before the Disco3).

Just give everyone a happy wave, they will stop sneering and start to wonder why FL2 owners are such a happy lot Laughing At work
