Seats should not need programming unless it has memory seats and the pre-tensioners will just swap over. |

I am seeking information on swapping the 6 way seats in a post 2010 update series Freelander 2 with 8 way seats out of a 2009 Freelander HSE. When LR released the update model in mid 2010 in Australia they deleted the 8 way seat option from all variants including the HSE, retaining only the 6 way option. I am looking to buy a post 2010 diesel HSE but cannot buy one until i determine that this conversion can be done. The conversion will need to retain the memory function and, importantly, the side mirror memory function.

Just a small point if you go for a later car my13 on the memory part will not work and the drivers seat adjustment you will need to toggle the switch for the seat movements as the seat Ecu is different and cannot be exchanged for the earlier version as the wiring plugs on the ecu are completely different! |

Car had manual seats and I fitted six way electric seats in,the problem being that the earlier model year 12 ecu will not speak to the 13my ecu, although the electrics do work to a fashion, for seat movements you have to toggle the switches for small incremental movements, the ecu is different to both model years and has completely different wiring plugs from memory the earlier version has three lots of wiring and the later two! |

Thanks Disco3, I now see that what I am restricted to is a pre 2013 FL2 as the 2013 update changed the electronics. 2 Range Rovers and 3 Discos later, plus AU$50k repairs, still be a LR fan. |
