Freelander 2 2007 Denso satnav update using Volvo dvd

Just updated Denso satnav with 2013-2014 DVD B using Volvo RTI MMM2 downloaded from internet.
Firmware took over an hour to update from original 2006 dvd, but all appeared ok.

BUT ..... where has the annoying voice guidance gone? That repetition of directions is a real godsend when you're lost!!! Compared files on both disks to make sure voice (files) present and all looks ok.

Put 2006 dvd back in and tested on a drive round. Voice and map operation working.
So now I've got updated firmware running old maps.
Replaced with 2013 dvd, mapping ok but still no voice.

Downloaded dvd again from another source (but possibly same original) and burnt another disk, verified it, tested it, but no change, NO VOICE,

I even went into the (secret) service menu on the satnav to check version and disk info changed with each disk, and it does.
Does anyone know what the "volume" button relates to on one of the screen pages?
I thought it might be for satnav voice when I saw it set to 1, but setting it to any other number makes no difference because on exiting the screen after pressing "set" just makes it default back to 1. Weird.

Next job is to try setting other languages on "settings" screen in case it responds to something other than english.

Any techies got the answer?

Just tried other languages but no luck.

Is it genuine software or a dodgy copy?

Not techy but I updated my 2007 mapping to Volvo 2014 version (2013 really) and it all appears to work fine.

Would you mind telling me where you got your disk from,as my 2008 HSE needs updating. I have been using my old TomTom up until now, as I paid for updates before trading-in my Volvo V50.

Yes - removed from a scrap vehicle I noticed when sourcing some switches for my Disco.

Hi Digger 76
would you let me know where you found the Volvo maps please? My 2008 HSE sat nav is absolutely rubbish, hopefully the Volvo disc will improve things.
Thanks Forgive your enemies....nothing annoys them so much.
