Rain vs mirror switches

Just been to our local village fete. A washout sadly Confused (as it was last year! so church funds are running low)

Anyway I parked in front of my sisters house, tightly squeezed in with a few other cars. No problems there until I wanted to reverse out avoiding the cars and a low wall. If you want to open the door or window to aid reversing, it pees it down onto the window switches Sad . Not just a few splashes but the full full force of the rain.
Not a design triumph in my opinion. At work

Auto tilt would be no good in that situation, it was pouring down all windows/mirrors were total obscured by rain and I didn't have time to mess around as Mrs G and Finn were having to shelter under tree.
Just hope the switches work in the morning Confused At work

I just assume that on the grounds the switches are definately going to be p***d on sometime in their life they must be shielded in some way still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

Its surprising how water does or doesn't affect car electrics, My neighbour forgot the handbrake on his Isuzu pick up and it rolled into a fish pond, once it was towed out and left to drip for a while most of the electrics actually worked. But then Pickups don't have complicated can-bus electric systems. His pickup was written off either way fish ponds and car engines dont really mix. At work
