I have often wondered this, the wheel itself is different as the D4/RRS I think has a spline and the FL2 is a hexagonal fitting.

Ahh, thanks, I incorrectly assumed the steering wheels would also be the same fitting, so based upon that, and the fact that the evoque type are totally different, the change is way out of my technical reach, therefore - forget I ever mentioned it, I do still love my freelander anyway |

In my opinion paddle shift on an Evoque auto is a bit of a gimmick. I had one as a courtesy car last week which was quite interesting. The auto was OK although it never seemed sure of which of the 9 ratios to be in and for example when cornering it seemed to be changing up and down more than I would have thought necessary.

Yes you can make this mofification as the "switch packs" are the same across the range, ie RRS Freelander 2, D4. No need to change wheel, just switch packs which house the flappy paddle. You just need to make sure you order the switch packs with paddles. If you go into TOPix it also has a bulletin on this option for the Freelander 2 and necessary additional wiring to plug in. Depending on your model, mine is MY15 it has blanking plates where the paddles would be and you just pop out with new switch packs. |

Evoke and Freelander 2 both have hexagon spline so wheels can be swapped/interchanged but I don't have first hand
