so my Blackvue 550HD has bricked its second SanDisk SD Card

Bought a Kingston 32GB Class 10 and when placed it it says it is initialising the SD Card and eventually goes to the normal start up message, though after a shutdown it then gives the message Please check the SD card, Please check the SD card

Is this the card or the blackvue itself that's kaput, (the card is working in the ePrance rear camera) Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I suspect its the fussy Software on the Blackvue ( both of my Blackvue's are real fussy - esp with Sandisk, and copy Sandisk cards).
Though tended to be a little happier if the card was fully formated on a computer using the SDFORMAT tool.
The onboard format is a waste of time, and should be avoided at all costs in my experience.

I "went through" several Sandisk cards of varying sizes in two Blackvue's in a couple of months - though all the cards work fine in my TV and Phone.

Upgraded both Blackvue's to Delkin cards some months ago.

I have had no issues since.

couple of points I noted.
1 Faster cards tend not to performas well in Blackvue
2 Those cards that did preform well actually specified on the packaging - suitable for Dashcams & Action Cams.

I am not sure how scientific the test was, though it appears comprehensive, and reflects my trial and error findings over a period of several weeks to find a reliable card. 

I did format the card vis the SDformatter program, then via the blackvue itself after it failed, so need to figure out if its the card or blackvue now

just ordered a 32gb delkin off amazon, so fingers crossed its works

the Kingston 32GB can stay in the ePrance as that was only 8GB so worth it Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
