Hi all
Freelander 2 2.2 diesel 2007 74k
Have a strange noise coming from under bonnet behind radiator...it sounds like a motor or damper that is seized.As soon as i unlock car the noise is present,the unit is attached to a hose ( air intake).
Could it be the pre heater. After engine is warm..doesnt seem to happen all the time.
Noise only stops when i arm/lock car.It is definately nothing to to with central locking/alarm though.
The unit is kind of kidney shaped and has electrical connections going to it...its below right of dipstick..im sure its something to do with air intake,but concerned if it goes that bits could be brought into engine?

can anyone vouch for the part number...is it LR012598 ( 2007 2.2 diesel)
Can get one for £103 from Euro Car Parts, Pierburg. Guess thats original spec?
