2014 Freelander 2 TD4_e Dynamic Manual Fuji White

Gritters

Dodged a gritter all the way home from work and then in traffic the used a 24/7 operating bus lane and clattered the car! I approximately drove a further 2 miles and my wheels and paint work were still a mess! Large chunks of salt in the brakes and some still sitting inside the alloy I had to go to the gym first and when I returned she was hosed down in the dark....

Common sense would tell one to grit at a very very low speed and keep the thrower down when passing traffic

Gritters are a problem though. I had a windscreen broken by a speedy gritting lorry coming past me in the opposite direction. I'd practically stopped and pulled as far to the left as I could but he just sailed on by without any regard

every gritter in our area I've seen is always way over the speed limit.

the gritter drivers seem to think they have some special powers that makes them above the law !!
