On 2013MY onwards, the re-map flash of the ECU is logged, but the average dealer technician will not know what depth to go to see if the ECU has been flashed.

They would have to have a reason to check this as well. If you re-map a car and hammer the hell out of it, then you could expect problems.

But if driven correctly, there is no reason why a re-mapped car is just as reliable as a standard one. I will re-map mine after November once the warranty is up. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

The picture in the ad says it all....much speed sounds like a Jeremy Clarkson cliche.
Engine maps are the way to go, they give you, generally, better mpg, modified torque for towing, off roading or just a smoother drive, the mapper can discuss your needs if you so wish.
As for much speed, it's a two tonne 4x4, you may get better acceleration but if you desire much speed buy a sports car Thumbs Up

I just posted about Turbo lag and some suggested using SAND mode.. I tried that and the improvement was amazing in acceleration, but also advice against using Sand mode continuously.

So can a remap put the performance Sand settings on Normal mode without modifying the diff settings ?
And any recs on remap firms in Kent plse.

A re-map will not effect the Terrain Response Settings.

A decent re-map will help throttle responce. But if you want a device to iron out throttle responce a lag, then get a DTUK pedal box. It in effect re-maps the electronic throttle without re-mapping the engine, so completely safe and warranty free modification.

DTUK supply them and are simply plug and Play. http://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/ Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Thanks .. interesting.
I'm still getting info on remap suppliers but it does look like they are all using the same software to give similar benefits.
All I want is the same mod that affects the throttle response as with Sand.

It is not just the software you have to consider, it is the back up and history of the software company you are using.

Superchips's Bluefin give you the best of both worlds. Rumour has it Wink that LR approached them during SD4 development for the initial software updates. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
