Rain Sensing Wipers Fault

Hi all,

My first post even though we've had the FL2 for over 4 trouble free years.

The windscreen was replaced on Friday and I noticed yesterday that the auto function for the wipers is not working (just getting standard intermittent wipe (variable). The rain sensors are housed under a cover between the rear view mirror and the glass itself. Is the cover easy to remove?

I suspect that either the sensors have not been attached correctly or there is something like silicon obscuring them

Any tips would be appreciated

Ron

Could be the sensor not attached to the screen correctly, the screen will not have sensors in it, it's just a case of attaching your sensors to the new screen. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

To get to the sensor the mirror surrounding splits down the middle and seperates in half, the mirror comes off with a quarter turn and the sensor just clips in to the screens moulded in bracket.

Hopefully it just needs connecting or clipping in.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I agree but I'm not sure how the plastic cover comes off and I don't want to break it.

It was replaced by a company called Autoglaze - insurers approved firm and yes it is the proper article. Heated screen and auto lights working ok just the auto wipers.

On checking tonight I found the gap between the sensor and the windscreen had been filled with clear silicon - the sensors looked cloudy from the outside. I have removed the silicon but the sensors are still not working.

Call them back sounds like a Bodge carried out,
why was there silicon on the sensor?
I have had Autoglass do my last 2 screens and they have broken or Censored something on each car each time.
I would not let them near the Freelander without me watching them.
