Blow a headlight bulb after approximately 10 months of ownership! I did upgrade the bulbs to be nightbreaker unlimited plus and it does state that they do not last as long

For those without xenons on MY13> cars remember to carry a spare bulb as you only have one HB3 bulb for full and dip beam!

Luckily the stock osrams came in handy as replacements for the time being.

Both my Osram night breakers blew on way home just before Xmas, which was fun as it caused all the interior lights to go off as well except for lights on dashboard. Just had DRL's on.

I thought fuse had blown but did not know which one and so went to my dealer and they confirmed both blown. They put new ones in and only charged £20 for cost of bulbs. While I was waiting I was talking to chap sat next to me and he was in for the same thing! Dealer said quite common for both to go at same time and cause the interior lights to go out.

Decided to stick with OEM's at moment as actually don't seem as bad as my original ones. Disco 4 HSE SDV6 Orkney Grey

I had a lamp (H4 Nightbreaker Extreme) go on my work van almost exactly a year after fitting it. The H3 lamps on the FL2 are still going strong.

Wilco I knew I had read it somewhere about this happening but couldn't remember who it was!

I changed the fog light bulbs and headlight bulbs in June which is worse as they just lasted 6 months! At the same time I also changed the indicator as it had the egg fried look in the lights. I opted for the Osram diadem which is a nice blue but flashes amber. I have got these fitted in the Freelander 1 also.

Just realised now that there is not mention of this in my bio as long as well as many other mods as it the time I was having issues uploading images to my album








Visible difference in bulbs is noticeable even in daytime

I think the bulb failed.

I don't know what went wrong but I was making a comment about the bull bar on the original picture and were they actually legal if you don't have a need (like you are a beef farmer).

Since May 2007 all frontal protection systems now have to be EU compliant, meaning the front bars have been tested and have ticked certain boxes in compliance with the law.

The bar must be type-approved for the vehicles they are intended to fit and have been crash tested to deem that in the event of a collision with a pedestrian, any injury caused will be reduced in comparison to a vehicle without a front bar.

(not sure how a bar can be less harmful to pedestrians than a car without though )

Basically, they're OK so long as they're completely useless! They're for show only, and in the event that they actually hit something they will fold back into the bodywork and cause more damage to the vehicle than if they weren't there at all. At leat, that's how I interpret it...

If it helps I believe that there are wild Wallabies in Derbyshire which were let out of a zoo during the second world war. Evidently they thrived in the climate but there have been cases where drivers have hit them but not mentioned it to the police in case they get immediately breathalised.

Off topic but OP have you got any information about that auxiliary light mounting bar etc?
