Until recently, I seemed to get loads of numbers I didn't recognise or withheld numbers. I ignored them 90% of the time but on the odd occasion I have answered, its either PPI claims, personal injury, solar panels or diamond merchants etc etc.

Just over a week ago, I set up a new voicemail greeting and still received calls for a few days but now they have virtually stopped altogether. The voicemail is a parody of the Liam Neeson quote from Taken. I will type out my message for those unfamiliar with Taken.

"I don't know who you are, I don't know what you want. If you are a call centre trying to sell me something, I can tell you I don't have time to listen to you. But what I do have, are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you hang up now that'll be the end of it, I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you... and I will sue you!"

**The reality is that the majority of callers if not all will hang up way before that message finishes but as long as they don't keep calling, I don't care"

Have recently replaced our Panasonic Dect phones with a trio of BT8500 phones. The call screening options are absolutely outstanding. Our nuisance cold calls / PPI / Accidents R us type calls are no more.

All of the shortcomings of TPS are covered by this phone system. Well worth the £75.

In spite of being on the TPS whichh is about as good as a chocolate teapot, they can only half stop UK based calls. We bought one of these about four months ago.

We didn't get it from them, but it does work, apparantly it can work the number that the caller is calling from even if it is withheld, you still can't see the number, but you answer the call, if it's a call, just press the button, it's added to the list, doubt we get two sales calls a month now. If your not by the call blocker, just hang up, press #2 from any house phone and it adds the last call to the list. It's taken the fun out of the calls from Microsoft with Indian accents called Nigel.

me to same set although mine are a quad version stopped 100% of nuisance calls!

I have the same phone as happynomad , not had 1 annoying phone call . Mine was £50 for 2 handsets, one has a answering machine. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

I am another with a BT8500. Best system, never since had an unsolicited call.
Registered with TPS but it is useless. You do need caller ID though, or everyone gets intercepted!

For Android users, I can recommend Mr Number as a free app. Once you have blocked the caller they never get through again. _________________
