I also have the parrot kit, fitted by our local auto electrician, and the steering wheel volume controls no longer work. I don't think its too much of a price to pay for having a handfree 'phone. 2009 Grey HSE Auto

If you had really short arms it would be a problem as the radio isn't that far away from the driver is it. I've never really been too bothered about steering wheel control and tend not to use them anyway.

I agee that its not too much hardship to reach for the stereo contols, hence I have not taken the Parrot system out of the vehicle. But I know other makes of vehicles are still able to have full functionality, even on a CAN system. I just didn't know if someone on this site had found a new lead supplier Freelander GS

Krum makes a harness that installs between amplifier and the speakers, and parrot box will mute all the speakers except lt. front from which the phone call sound comes out.
