strange noises New 2009 LR2

I've had my new Land Rover LR2 for two months now. Love it. Anyway, when I shut off the engine there are two strange noises that I often hear. The first sounds like a pump noise somewhere near the back left wheel (was told this is normal in another forum). The other noise that I hear every so often is a high pitched noise, what seems like it is coming from the engine after I turn the car off. Are these normal sounds? They always occurr after the engine has been turned off.

Thanks

I get the same noise after turning the engine off. Seems to be coming from under the bonnet (hood if you are US) somewhere, like a little electric motor running. (its not the side windows folding in and its not the cooling fan either).

I've done 46000 km's (30,000 miles) in a year and it doesn't seem to have done anything so I assumed it was normal?

We too get the high pitched noise after turning the engine off on our 2008 FL2 GS TD4. It lasts for 30 seconds or so before going off. I've got used to it now and just ignore it! GONE - 2011/11 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto

Ya I have herd the high pitch noise as well and nothing seems to be wrong so I will ignore it for now. Seeing how others have herd it and nothing seems to be wrong. I suppose it's electronics that are shutting down.

I love this car it's a good car. Mine is anyway.

I got the high pitched whine and got very worried when it turned out to be "Her Indoors"
