"Upgrades"...

A friend of mine has just bought a 57 plate TD4 which has a couple of so-called 'upgrades'.

He has a touchscreen satnav, aftermarket head unit, Evoque steering wheel (I think - heated element, black leather, menu controls etc) and odd display unit.

Couple of pics attached of each.

Basically he'd like to get the steering wheel buttons working - even the horn buttons don't work! So I said I'd do some research and see what can be done. So I'm trying to find out what the head unit might be and same for the sat nav - also how I might make the steering wheel controls work etc.

The radio is also very crackly.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Joe

I think he may need to put the original steering wheel back as the electrics on the later wheels are not compatible with the earlier type! Smile

If someone has fitted a non compatible steering wheel resulting in all the switches being inoperable..... and sticking with it.
Then when fitting an aftermarket sound system, to me there is no surprise in the fact that it's not working correctly either.
Best bet would be for your friend to get it all back to standard.
