Scotland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Lux Manual Rimini Red
Aftermarket fuel filters

2009 freelander 2 2.2 td4

Changed fuel filter and struggled to get it bled small squirt of east start got it going let it idle for 10-15 minutes then shut down. Much to my delight it wouldn't start again.

Which leaves me with the following questions.....

1: Has anyone had issues with aftermarket fuel filters? (It was a good quality after market filter fitted Mann was the brand). I have had issues with aftermarket fuel filters on duratorque transit vans in the past.

2: is it more likely I have upset a seal on one of the quick fit connections?

3: Even with the engine running for 15 minutes could some air still be in fuel?

Right now I'm swaying somewhere in the middle of options 1 and two! Any help is much appreciated.
