United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Barolo Black

Hi Jim,
Congratulations on getting those seats off eBay! I was in the process of trying to get more details from the Seller and suddenly they were gone...apparently to you! Really hope you manage to fit them OK. I had some questions fitting them to an XS and the unofficial, off the record, recommendation I got from a Dealer contact was to take the leather seat squabs off the seat bases and fit them to the existing seat bases (mine is an XS and has 4 way drivers seat...same as the passenger seat you have bought). Both the seat backs with armrests should also be able to be swapped over onto the existing seat bases as GS & XS seatback frames don't have armrest brackets and these cannot be retrofitted without welding. The main problem is the lumbar support as the HSE lumbar support is pneumatic (air) and needs a 12v feed to drive the pump that is not on the GS or XS as those are manual...this and, of course, heated seats is the wiring issue. Of course you have found all this out by now already, but Good Luck! Very interested how you get on...hope you manage to share what you achieve!

Hi Jim,
Have you managed to change your seats yet for the electric ones. I'm considering doing this myself on my GS.

Sorry to bump this. Did you ever put together a 'how to'?
I'm considering retro-fitting my 2010MY GS with leather. Here's the connection I have under the drivers seat..

It was a GS I fitted them to, audio is the key - if you have mid line (cd slot above screen) then wiring should be in place. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Have a look on your seat electrical connector for a yellow and red wire. If you have this wire it will be straight forward, just need a ccf change if they are memory seats to enable memory function and mirror dipping.Hope this helps. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

As per Disco 3's the wiring for power should already be in place...

Just memory that can cause the issues...

Is it plug and play or do you have to splice into the underseat loom?

A decent leather interior doesn't come up too often, so you need to be prepared to offer (& pay) over the odds for it.

But after the wallet drain, it is worth it as you'll appreciate it every time you get in your car.
Along with a retrofit sat nav and a perforated leather steering wheel, it really does move the quality of the interior up a good few notches.

Good luck next time. Thumbs Up FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

I have just fitted a set of electric seats to my 13my XS which previously had manual seats, the operation of all switches on the drivers side is a small movement each time you move the switches,it happens on all the operations you can go back and forth,up and down etc but only if you continuously toggle the switches,,it has not been programmed and wondered if it had anything to do with that although the passenger seat seems fine, any ideas would be welcome. Smile
