$70m fine 1729 deaths & injuries

Honda fined $70 million for failing to report potential and actual safety issues. 1729 deaths and injuries between 2003 and 2014. GM was fined last year in relation to 13 deaths. Hopefully car manufactures get the message that they need improve their standards.

In the 70's in North america there was a car , not sure if it was a pinto or a pacer by ford . It was known that if the car was hit from the back 90% of the time it would go on fire or explode. Ford said it was cheaper for them to pay out compo than reengineer the back end of the car. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Hear similar story, but was ford bronco and it was side impacts and petrol leaks due to the fuel tanks been on the outside of a protective beam

But I'll go with which ever report as I can't be bothered with a argument over opinions Wink Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

To be fair to Honda, most of these were suicides due to customers realising what a pile of crap they had wasted their money on. Luckily my counselling sessions and return to LR ownership have saved me from being number 1730.

Honda, a pile of crap? I really don't think so. It wasn't to your taste I know, but honda have and do make some quality cars.

Wife had three Honda CRVs from new, one after the other and all auto. She started with an original shape when launched in the UK, the face lifted first shape and then the second shape.

Each car was perfectly reliable and incurred no cost other than servicing and consumables. They met her requirements perfectly in size and stlye and capability and they had sliding, reclining rear seats plus a bigger boot than the FL2.

Would she want another after the FL2? No.

To be fair, I bought my 2014 because my parents have had three faultless CRV's, a 2005, a 2007 and currently a 2012. They couldn't believe the difference in quality of paintwork and fit and finish compared with mine. Honda main dealer still can't sell the one I px'd in November, despite it being reduced to the same price I got from LR dealer for it.
