MY14 Terrain Response Auto Reset

I was driving in GGS yesterday as the carparks were a bit icy and the roads very wet

Got home 6pm and this morning upon starting the car 9:50am, i was still in GGS, my old car used to reset after so many hours of been switched off.

is this not the case now for MY14 cars Question Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Looked in the manual and it's not mentioned either

I think it used to be six hours of been off, but looks like now it's on until you switch it off

Noticed the heated seats do the same too, as often when I drive to work they are on and still on a hour or so later when I start the car again Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Same in mine, although GGS is still on after an overnight wait the heated seats are not, so they may be timed?

Noticed the other day that after about 4 hours parked up, that GGS was still programmed on when I started up.
If I recall correctly with my D3 & D4, it reset to normal mode after ignition was switched off.

Also noticed that when in GGS that the Stop/Start function is automatically disabled - seems to make sense though.

Sounding normal for the newer cars Thumbs Up

My seats are on an hour or so later but not over night so sounds normal too Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

But mines an old MY10. Sad

Don't know about the heated seats though, need to keep an eye out for that.

Meantime I'm enjoying the Winter Park for the front wipers (never had that on the D3 or D4)
Just set it up as I park at night, then put my spare rubber mat on the screen (under the now vertical wipers).
Wipers don't freeze to the screen and it gives a nice easy defrost in the morning Thumbs Up

This document explains the development of the Terrain Response System (dated 2005) :

http://lr3tips.files.wordpress.com/2010/09...ficial.pdf

In it, it says :
"All Special Programs, apart from Grass-Gravel-Snow will default after 6 hours. The Grass-Gravel-Snow Program remains selected regardless of how long the ignition has been off, because this can be of benefit to customers living in extreme (winter) climates."

thats what it says for the pre facelift version, but my manual doesn't mention anything now, for some reason LR have decided its best to leave it alone and left the driver to chose now Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

There are posts from people in the winter where it has set itself into GGS mode in the morning when it wasn't in GGS mode when last switched off, it happened to me twice. Possibly down to weak batteries.
