the stove is a 8kw?? hunter, the fire bars on these do seems soft and twist easily. I also managed to near burn through the rear register plate, this has been replated in the farm workshop, new plates are ££££

Being involved with the Cheshire Agricultural Society I get to talk to all the show exhibitors and was speaking to a guy about wood burners for a client who was thinking of fitting 3 in parallel to heat his rather large house and generate hot water.

The guy selling the units was quite honest with me and stated that "Unless you have got money to burn" (sorry about the pun) IE you get the wood FOC do not bother as it is cheaper to use oil (or gas if it is available)

I have two kitchen and front room,, both are for comfort only, radiators and hot water are heated vie LPG gas boiler.

I have a pretty constant amount of wood fuel not normally enough to last all winter but 2/3 maybe.

thinned tree branches from a wood planted in the 80's old pallet wood etc even all the old sash windows after we fitted double glazing

currently burning ash, lime and telegraph poles. and a big stack of old potato crates for kindling.
