Well, I picked up my new (to me) 2011MY TD4 S from Pentland Land Rover in Cupar yesterday, after trading in a 2009 Discovery 3 GS. Here are my first impressions:

Hello the car is looking nice in white too, good to see another person from Ross-shire. Where about are you I'm in Alness? I have to say I don't find much problem with road noise I used to have a Jaguar XF and I find the Freelander as quiet as the jaguar. Must be more tyre related. Regards

We're in Tain, so not far away at all! Do you mind me asking what tyres you have? Mine are Continental 4x4 Contact on 16 inch rims.

Ah ok was almost through at the vintage rally on Sunday there but the weather put us off. No of course not mine is on Perelli scorpion 19" it was one thing I was expecting when I changed from the jaguar to the Freelander was more road noise but if I'm honest I find very little of a difference you hear the engine a wee bit more but that's to be expected.

Ahhhh Tain...I have fond memories of sitting in Graham Eunace's personal office, sampling certain varieties of Glenmorangie that never leaves Tain......fantastic few days spent up there...stayed at the Glenmorangie as well...brilliant Hotel! Foraging near Gaydon....

It's not a bad drop at all. If you enjoy Glenmorangie try a wee Dalmore Regards

I was at the rally. The rain only really set in from about 3.00, so plenty to see before then. Tom Robb had his usual Land Rover set-up there.

Try the Co-op 12 year old Highland single malt, I think it is Dalmore , at 」22.95. |

Hmm doubtful tbh Dalmore don't sell many bottles off for relabeling by other companies. You sometimes see special reserve in the coop that is from a Dalmore cask but its not as good and its still 」40 odd. Sorry i have a slight obsession with Dalmore i have to have them all!!! i know its a problem!! Regards
