shudder when i push the throttle down slowly at low revs

I have a shudder when I lightly push the throttle in traffic at low revs, it feels like a mis-fire on petrol, when it does it if I boot it it disappeares and flys off,
the local garage put a fault finder on it and it shows a torque converter fault code, any ideas .....help !!!
